What the Written Warranty Should Identify

  • Covered product, order, drawing revision, and manufacturer/supplier
  • Warranty duration and exact starting event
  • Covered manufacturing defects and agreed specifications
  • Required inspection, installation, operation, and maintenance records
  • Claim notice period, evidence, return authorization, and investigation process
  • Available remedies and responsibility for freight, labor, travel, duties, and downtime

Items Commonly Outside Warranty

  • Normal wear of belts, liners, seals, bearings, scrapers, coatings, and other consumables
  • Incorrect installation, voltage, alignment, handling, storage, cleaning, or maintenance
  • Operation above agreed load, speed, temperature, pressure, corrosion, or environmental conditions
  • Damage from impact, contamination, site equipment, accident, or unauthorized modification
  • Performance claims not included in the approved specification or acceptance method
  • Natural variation or cosmetic condition within the agreed drawing/visual standard

Final exclusions must be reviewed for the product, contract, and applicable law.

Magnetic Performance Claims

A decrease in measured field or force must be evaluated with the same instrument, fixture, position, gap, temperature, and method used for acceptance. Separation performance also depends on material, feed, buildup, speed, working distance, and maintenance. Process changes are not automatically product defects.

Customer Claim Evidence

Provide order and batch, affected quantity, photographs/video, measurements with method and instrument, operating conditions, installation records, date first observed, containment action, and available samples. Do not dispose of disputed products before return or inspection instructions are agreed.

Spare Parts and Wear Planning

Equipment quotations should identify recommended belts, bearings, rollers, scrapers, seals, sensors, fasteners, and motor/reducer information where applicable. Confirm which items are included, their storage needs, and expected replacement method.
