Overhead Magnetic Separator

Suspended Magnet for Conveyor Tramp Iron Removal

Install it above the belt. Pull out bolts, wires, nails, and tramp iron before they hit crushers, screens, or grinders.

When To Use It

Protect Crushers

Remove tramp iron before it damages liners, jaws, cones, and hammers.

Protect Screens

Stop metal pieces from blinding screens and tearing rubber media.

Less Manual Picking

Cut risky hand sorting when sharp iron rides on the belt.

Suspended magnet reducing manual sorting work

Cleaner Bulk Material

Reduce iron contamination before sale, washing, or downstream sorting.

Where It Does Not Fit

Deep Material Layers

Iron buried deep in thick material may not lift cleanly.

Wet or Sticky Feed

Mud and sticky fines can drag iron past the field.

Stainless Steel

Most 300 series stainless will not be removed.

Fine Powder in Chutes

Use grate, tube, or plate magnets instead.

Choose The Right Option

Three solutions. Different cleaning work.

01Manual Cleaning
Manual cleaning suspended magnet over conveyor
  • Cost-effective
  • Simple structure
  • No power required

Best for low installation height and easy maintenance access.

02Self-Cleaning
Self-cleaning suspended overband magnet
  • Automatic iron discharge
  • Less downtime
  • Motorized belt cleaning

Best for high flow, 24/7 operation, and labor saving.

03Electromagnetic
Electromagnetic suspended separator option
  • Adjustable strength
  • Deep burial iron removal
  • Heavy duty use

Best for large lumps, deep burden, and harsh lines.

How It Works

Simple idea. Brutal job.

1

Material Flow

Bulk material passes under the suspended magnet.

2

Iron Attraction

Ferrous pieces lift into the magnetic working zone.

3

Iron Retention

Iron stays attached while clean material moves forward.

4

Discharge

Workers clean it manually, or the belt discharges automatically.

Model Selection Guide

The more details you provide, the faster we quote.

01

Material Photo

Please send real belt photos.

02

Particle Size

What is the max lump size?

03

Conveyor Width

Measure belt width in mm.

04

Belt Speed

Write m/s if you have it.

Not sure about all details?

Send photos and two numbers. Our engineer will narrow the model first.

Frequently Asked Questions

How high should the magnet sit above the belt?

Use the lowest safe height. For many lines, 200-500 mm works better than guessing from a catalog.

What is the difference between manual and self-cleaning magnets?

Manual models need workers to clean iron. Self-cleaning models discharge iron with a motorized belt.

What is the minimum iron size that can be removed?

It depends on burial depth, belt speed, and magnet strength. Send a sample photo before ordering.

Do you provide custom sizes?

Yes. We can adjust width, frame, lifting points, cover, discharge direction, and installation bracket.

What maintenance is required?

Check belt wear, bearings, bolts, discharge area, and magnet surface. Dirty lines need more checks.

Can the magnet be used outdoors?

Yes. Add a weather cover, stronger coating, and proper drainage if rain or dust is heavy.
