REAL MATERIAL. REAL PROBLEMS.

Magnetic Separation Solutions for Real Material Problems

Choose the separator by material behavior, not by industry name.

Dry powder, wet fines, crushed scrap, glass cullet, ore, and slag do not separate the same way.

1 Start with the problem on your line

Start with the problem. Not the catalog.

Crusher damage

Tramp iron breaks hammers, liners, and shafts.

Iron in dry bulk

Contaminated product leads to returns and lost trust.

Fine iron in plastic flakes

Tiny iron makes pellets look dirty and lowers grade.

Deep conveyor layer

Iron buried deep needs more pull and depth.

Wet sticky material

Moisture causes carryback, clogging, and poor release.

Non-ferrous metal problem

Aluminum and copper need a different route.

One magnet does not solve every metal problem. Match the tool to the material behavior.

2 Solution map: pick smarter

Material / Problem Better First Choice Works Best When Be Careful When
Conveyor tramp iron Imán suspendido Iron size > 20 mm, layer < 6" Deep layer, high speed
Dry powder / granules Drum Magnet Fine iron, free-flow, continuous Very wet or sticky material
Plastic flakes Drum Magnet + Grate Fine iron in flakes, high purity need Large tramp pieces present
Glass cullet Drum Magnet Fine iron in glass, consistent feed Wet glass or heavy clay
Slag / foundry return Overband + Drum Hot or abrasive, mixed size Very large lumps, thick layer
Aluminum pre-sort Eddy Current + Magnet Recover aluminum, remove iron Wet, conductive dust

5 Where magnetic separation fits

Works better when

  • Dry powders, granules, and free-flowing materials
  • Plastic flakes, regrind, and pellets
  • Glass cullet and recycled glass
  • Conveyor tramp iron protection
  • Consistent feed and stable belt speed

Needs checking

  • Wet, sticky, or highly clay material
  • Very thick material layer above 300 mm
  • Stainless steel separation. Do not guess here.
  • Aluminum or copper separation. Use eddy current.
  • Very hot slag or incandescent material

8 Common questions. Real answers.

How do I know which separator is right for my material?

Start with material behavior: dry or wet, free-flowing or sticky, fine or lump, thin layer or deep layer.

What belt speed and layer depth can you handle?

Send belt width, belt speed, layer depth, particle size, and target iron size. Then the model can be selected.

Can the magnet handle large tramp iron and fine iron?

Sometimes one machine can cover both. Often the line needs a suspended magnet first and a drum separator after.

How do you clean the magnet automatically?

Self-cleaning belts, rotating drums, discharge chutes, and scraper systems are selected by material flow.

Will the magnet remove stainless steel?

Do not count on it. Many stainless steels are weakly magnetic or non-magnetic. Test the sample first.

Do you provide drawings and installation support?

Yes. Confirm line size first. Then drawings, inlet size, discharge direction, and motor position can be fixed.
