Do not approve a magnetic-product supplier because a certificate image contains the ISO name. Verify the certified legal entity, site, management-system scope, standard and edition, certificate number, issue and expiry dates, certification body, accreditation status and current validity.
ISO develops standards but does not certify companies or issue ISO 9001 certificates. Certification is performed by external certification bodies.
What an ISO Management-System Certificate Does—and Does Not—Show
A valid management-system certificate can provide independent assurance that the named organization’s system was assessed against a stated standard within a defined scope. It does not prove that every product meets its drawing, that every shipment passed inspection, or that an unrelated trading company is certified.
Product acceptance still requires specifications, inspection evidence and traceability. ISO 9001 certification is not a magnetic-field test, material certificate, CE declaration or guarantee of separation performance.
Eight Fields to Verify
- Legal entity: Does the company name exactly match the supplier, manufacturer or site being claimed?
- Address and sites: Is the relevant manufacturing location included, including any site appendix?
- Scope: Does the certified activity cover the work being purchased, such as manufacture or assembly, rather than an unrelated business?
- Standard and edition: Is the full reference shown and still relevant?
- Certificate number: Can it be searched or confirmed with the issuer?
- Dates: Check initial certification, current issue and expiry or recertification dates.
- Certification body: Identify the external body that issued the certificate.
- Accreditation: Check which accreditation body recognizes the certification body for the relevant activity and geography.
How to Verify the Certificate in Practice
- Obtain the complete PDF or scan, including annexes and reverse pages—not a cropped website badge.
- Compare the name and address with the quotation, invoice, bank beneficiary, contract and product nameplate.
- Read the scope literally. Do not infer “magnetic separator manufacturing” from a scope that only covers sales.
- Use the certification body’s directory or recognized certificate database where available.
- If the record cannot be found, contact the issuing body using independently obtained contact details.
- Record the verification date, result and reviewer in the supplier-approval file.
OSENC and Partner-Facility Certificates
OSENC is an independent magnetic solutions supplier with access to established manufacturing resources. A certificate held by a selected manufacturing partner must not be represented as a certificate held by Osenc Magnet Co., Ltd.
Where verified, an accurate project statement may be: “The selected manufacturing partner operates under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system within the scope shown on its certificate.” The project file should still identify which partner and site will perform the relevant work.
Warning Signs
- The company name is blurred, translated differently or missing.
- The logo is visible but certificate number and scope are cropped out.
- The certificate has expired or the online record is suspended or withdrawn.
- The address belongs to a different factory with no documented project relationship.
- The scope covers trading only, while the website claims certified manufacturing.
- The supplier says it is “certified by ISO.”
- The ISO logo is used as though ISO endorsed the company or product.
What to Request in Addition to ISO 9001
- Approved drawing and product specification
- Inspection and test plan
- Material and component traceability
- Calibration status for relevant instruments
- Dimensional and magnetic test results
- Nonconformance and corrective-action process
- Factory acceptance criteria for complete equipment
